About

Welcome to Berger Blanc Suiss of the Great Smoky Mountains!
We are so glad you found us!

Deborah and Coda

We are a new kennel located in the beautiful hills of the Great Smoky Mountains in East Tennessee. Founded recently in the Summer of 2019, our farm is just over 40 acres and has gorgeous views of the national park. You can see some of our farm life below! We have an old quarter horse named CD, and two mules, Bojack and Chip. Our other past times include bee keeping, tending the vegetable garden, hiking the Smokies, and drinking sweet tea in our rocking chairs on the back porch.
A few years ago we began searching for the perfect family dog. We had many different rescue dogs growing up and also pure breeds too. We had Siberian Huskies, labs, and many mutts that we were endured to! We started wondering, was there a breed out there that was renowned for beauty, had an amazing, calm temperament, and keen intelligence? That's how we found Berger Blanc's. We also found the breed was scarce in the United States. Easily found and popular in Europe, but harder to find here. We bought our first puppy, Mikkah, and were astounded at his calm, sensitive temperament. Where had this dog been our whole lives?? After time went by, we added Heidi Rose, then Coda to the group. We keep being amazed at how great these dogs are with all our various family members, whether it be the children or farm animals! Heidi Rose is from Faolan Frost Kennel in California and will carry our first litter. She has more of the herding traits of the breed and loves to follow Deborah around on the farm "helping". She is quiet and sensitive.

When you buy from us, you are supporting three families! You're also supporting healthy breeding practices that honor the animal as well as the wonderful traits of the Berger Blanc Suisse breed.

Our healthy breeding practices
Females will have one little per year, as long as pregnancy is healthy and momma is fine. She will retire after 4-5 litters.

All dogs used in breeding purposes will have hips and elbows checked at two years of age and only in passing their tests will they be used for such purposes.

All dogs deserve a loving home
We also support local animal shelters every month with a donation. You can see our donations here.

If you get your puppy and it just isn't a right fit, or life takes a dramatic turn, we ask the animal is returned. You can see a more in-depth explanation of this in our contract.

The typical temperament of the Berger Blanc Suisse breed
This breed tends to have a mellow disposition and are sensitive to their owner. They are quick to come when called and generally want to please and hang out with you. They are great do-whatever dogs- there is no running off when the front door is left open, they are calm, happy creatures. Our Heidi does try to herd the donkey and the horse from time to time but not all Berger Blanc's exhibit this behavior. They love to play fetch! Mikkha makes friends wherever he goes with ease- it is hard to ignore such a large beautiful animal that is nudging you for a pet!

What's the difference between a white shepherd and a Berger Blanc White Suisse Shepherd??
A white German Shepherd is not a Berger Blanc Suisse White Shepherd. They are two different breeds.  A Berger Blanc white shepherd's have a different temperament, and body shape.
If you are looking for a Berger Blanc White Shepherd you have come to the right place! All our puppies will be health tested and registered. Breeders MUST follow the rules and guidelines set by the FCI/American Berger Blanc Suisse Club to be considered a Berger Blanc Suisse. We are also under supervision by another knowledgeable breeder to ensure accountability and as our advisors.
